At the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Raise awareness of our own cultural preferences
  • Identify cultural dimensions, focusing on those present within our own work environment
  • Identify and learn to use strategies and techniques to communicate effectively

  • Understand how distance communication works and affects international situations, and identify ways to use remote communication tools efficiently

  • Basic notions: culture, corporate culture, and in particular ethnocentricity
  • The effects of generalizations on cultures, their usefulness and their drawbacks
  • Stable reference points: dimensions developed by E. T. Hall, G. Hofstede
  • Cultural biases in communication
  • Difference between description, interpretation, evaluation
  • Deepen learning about cultural dimensions at work and elsewhere
  • Application of the tools on situations as close as possible to the business
  • Impact of intercultural situations on e-mail communication
  • Careful: all is not “cultural”!…
