“S&OP: The Perfect Plan” overview

As Groupe PSA was implementing globally a new S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, a learning program was required to guide staff through the change journey.

S&OP is an iterative and collaborative decision process which allows the different Group entities to align to a unique and shared optimization plan. Cross functional tactical decisions are taken by all actors on an 18 months rolling horizon to reach a global optimum. The decisions are business oriented and can impact marketing, sales, manufacturing, technic, strategy and finance.

This learning program is “The Perfect Plan”, a serious board game that can be delivered face-to-face or via video live streaming, targeting 400 learners from 9 departments across the globe and created in only 3 months. It is at the same time immersive, engaging and challenging. “The perfect plan” has been a smooth and attractive driver to onboard staff and to support the change management strategy implemented by Groupe PSA.

According to Aurore Guernalec, Change Management Officer at Groupe PSA

“S&OP is a state of mind and a cultural change. Through S&OP, we will be able to anticipate decisions at the right time, at the right level to optimize our global performance. One of our main challenges is to ensure that all decisions are based on a global constraint optimization. To face those major changes, change management is one of the key success factors. To success in our journey, we needed a learning program to explain the new process, the roles and responsibilities of everyone, the benefits and issues, and wanted it to be at the same time interactive and fun. That’s how “S&OP: the perfect plan” was born. Expectations were largely met, thanks to the collaborative work between CEGOS Group and Groupe PSA. The players are enjoying the game. The culture change is under its way. With S&OP, we are going to build our journey to Excellence and reinforce our position as a top car maker.”
